A Note About Reclaimed Barnwood: This wood is actual wood harvested from old barns and will contain saw marks, cracks, nail holes, knots, cracks, gouges and other rustic characteristics. You may see slight differences in shades, colors and tones of the finish from piece to piece. This is the nature of this wood and is sold on an "as is" basis. There are no returns or warranty claims on our barn wood.

About Our Catalyzed Varnish

A low-sheen, catalyzed conversion varnish is used on this Taos Dining Table as on all of our furniture. It is a protective topcoat used to achieve long-lasting durability of the piece. The catalyzed varnish provides the ultimate finish that is resistant to scratches, water stains and heat damage. It is easy to clean and stays looking great for a long, long time.

Solid Vs. Extendable Tables

The Taos Barnwood Table is available as either a SOLID or EXTENDABLE table in varying sizes. Table top boards on Solid Tables run the long way while table-top boards on Extendable Tables run the short way to allow for separation.

Each EXTENDABLE table is supplied with a removable fifth leg. Use of the extra leg is of course optional, but highly recommended should you plan on leaving the table extended for long periods of time or, when using a large number of leaves.

Pottker Ball Bearing Table Slides

As a 4-legged table, the Extender Table operates with an ungeared slide. Our Pottker Ball Bearing Table Slides are an optional upgrade and allow for a smoother, independent extension of each table side.

Ordering Extension Leaves

Each Extension Table comes standard with one leaf. You may also order 2, 3 or 4 leaves. Additional leaves may be ordered by calling us directly.

Table self stores up to two leaves with the skirt. Leaves 3 and 4 will arrive without the skirt and do not self store. Additional leaves with or without the skirt may be special ordered.

Change The Table Edging

Choose from our most popular "Mission Roundover w/Hand Worn Corner" edging style or select one of the other three including "Regular Mission Roundover", "Hand Hewn" or "Chamfer". To view drawings of the various edging styles, click to open a new window and visit our Table Edging Styles" gallery.

Optional Table Heights

The Taos Barnwood Dining Table is available in either the standard 30" table height as shown or optional 36" counter height (aka pub height) or 42" bar height.

Fill The Knot Holes

As with all reclaimed barnwood furniture, there may be occasional knot or nail holes in the wood. You have the option to fill these holes with a clear epoxy or leave as is. The clear epoxy blends in nicely and creates a smooth finish across the wood's surface. Leaving the holes exposed enhances the rustic nature of the piece.

Top Quality Reclaimed Barnwood Table Construction

All wood used on this table is 100% reclaimed solid oak barnwood from felled barns across the eastern US.

All lumber is made usable for furniture by undergoing a thorough cleaning and drying process which includes locating and removing any nails with a metal detector and kiln drying to exterminate any insects and their eggs. Kiln drying also brings down the moisture content to roughly 7% which minimizes shrinking and warping later on.

A corner brace removable leg system is standard on all leg tables. Two bolts and four screws hold legs on securely.

A smooth, protective catalyzed varnish with low sheen finish seals and protects the table for years to come.
