The simple, straight-line design of the bed frame evokes a tranquil mood and detracts from the stresses of the day. There's nothing complicated about the style, but the quality of the workmanship and the rough textures of the aged barnwood are what make this bed special.

Heavy, thick barn wood posts and beams are carved and sliced to allow the original saw marks to remain exposed wherever possible and the fresh cuts to be smoothed over and finished for a soft-to-the touch feeling as you glide your hand over the wood. The finishing process also brings out the varying tones of light and dark in the wood, created only as a result of the aging process of the old oak wood.

A Note About Reclaimed Barnwood: This wood is actual wood harvested from old barns and will contain saw marks, cracks, nail holes, knots, cracks, gouges and other rustic characteristics. You may see slight differences in shades, colors and tones of the finish from piece to piece. This is the nature of this wood and is sold on an "as is" basis. There are no returns or warranty claims on our barn wood.

  • Mortise and tenon joinery locks all critical joints together
  • All wood used on this barnwood bed is 100% reclaimed solid oak barnwood from felled barns sourced throughout the Northeastern United States.
  • All reclaimed barnwood is thoroughly cleaned and dried prior to cutting. In addition, any embedded nails are removed.
  • A kiln drying process exterminates any insects which may have lingered. This critical drying process also brings down the moisture content to 6-8% which minimizes shrinking, cracking and warping in the dresser throughout its lifetime.
  • A low-sheen, catalyzed conversion varnish is used on this rustic barn wood bed. The catalyzed varnish resists scratches, water stains and heat damage. It is also quite easy to clean.
