The story of how the crafter for this barnwood hutch got started is quite compelling. Many years ago a young Amish man worked for his dad in his log furniture business. After working with log furniture for a long time he decided he really like the barnwood. He started by crafting a coffee table made from barnwood for his girlfriend. After others began to appreciate the beauty of this coffee table he began to get requests to make more. He soon grew to build a business all his own making many types of barnwood furniture.
This hutch design coordinates nicely with the Rockport Barnwood Dining Collection. The super wide feet of the hutch add an interesting design element while the shiplap gives it that much sought-after farmhouse look. No matter what your decorating style, this hutch will nicely complement a wide range of design styles, from metro industrial to modern farmhouse and more.

All wood used on this barnwood hutch is reclaimed solid oak barnwood from felled barns coming from the Northeastern United States.
All reclaimed barnwood is thoroughly cleaned and dried prior to cutting. In addition, any embedded nails are removed.
A kiln drying process exterminates any insects which may have lingered. This critical drying process also lessens the moisture content to 6-8% which is essential in furniture making to minimize shrinking, cracking and warping in the hutch over its lifetime.
A low-sheen, catalyzed conversion varnish is used on this barnwood hutch. This protective varnish resists scratches, water stains and heat damage. It is also ultra easy to clean.
