Our 72" Big Sky Bed is available as a headboard-only bed. Call to special order. Other stain color options are also available, but must call to work with our furniture specialist.

We don't call this rustic bedroom ensemble our "Big Sky Bedroom" for nothing. With a massive 72" tall headboard with sliding barn doors and hidden shelving, this bed is everything but flimsy. The thick solid maple timbers used in the making of the headboard, footboard and side rails are specially prepared with a rough-sawn finish prior to assembly. This is done purposefully to give the bed an overall rustic feeling that provides a bold "Go Big Or Go Home" statement in the bedroom, whether in a master suite or guest bedroom.

The exceptional standout quality of the Amish craftsmanship provides reassurance that no short cuts are taken when it comes to construction. Thick lag bolts and steel brackets secure side rails to the headboard and footboard. Dovetail joints prevent supporting cross bar slats under the bed from moving around and support legs are provided on king and queen size beds for added stability. Friends, this is one bed that is made to last.

Best Quality Amish Construction

  • Handcrafted from solid, rough-sawn brown maple wood.
  • Mortise and tenon joinery locks all critical joints together.
  • Heavy duty steel brackets are used to connect bed rails. Brackets have a ledge on the bottom for the rail to rest on, so all the weight is on the bracket. The bracket is then fastened to the head and foot boards by 2 hardened steel lags.
  • King size beds equipped with 4 support legs under bed. Queen size beds have 2 support legs. Full size beds do not require support legs.
  • Supporting cross bar slats under bed are dovetailed in to lock in place. Four cross bar slats per bed are used.
  • Catalyzed conversion varnish provides long-lasting finish protection.
